You can always invite anyone in the United States as your co-founder. But this is not required to register a business. You can register an LLC or C Corporation as a solo entrepreneur.

Should I register as an LLC or C Corporation?

There can be a lot of factors but in general you'll need to choose between being tax effective (LLC) or investor friendly (C Corporation). Which state should I choose?

Delaware and Wyoming are the top choices of founders. Business laws in Delaware provide the strongest shield for businesses and commonly preferred by VCs and angel investors, while Wyoming is known for minimal annual fees and simplicity. If you have strong reasons to incorporate in states other than Delaware and Wyoming, we can still help you as we support all 50 states.

What documents do I need to submit?

We will have all the necessary information to open your business in the US using our online form. Once submitted, we only ask for a copy of your valid passport. Make sure all 4 corners of your passport are visible.

Can you tell about your banking partners?

We are in partnership with two major players in the digital banking arena: Relay Financial and Mercury. You don't need physical presence in the US to open an account. Dunster will process the application on your behalf. Both partners are FDIC members and insured, require no minimum deposit, and come with debit cards and online access.

Any ongoing fees after the setup?

There are some key costs after you setup your business and which are not the part of the initial one time fee.

  • Annual Registered Agent Fee ($50/year)
  • State Compliance Filing Service ($150/year, excludes state fees and taxes)
  • US mailing address subscription (from $9.95/month)
  • US phone number subscription (from $55/year)

Are there any countries or industries you cannot support?

At the moment, we cannot provide support for founders currently living (not referring to citizenship) in US sanctioned countries ( Belarus, Burundi, Central African Republic, Cuba, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Libya, Nicaragua, North Korea, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Syria, Ukraine, Yemen, and Zimbabwe) and businesses that deal in cryptocurrencies, money services, adult entertainment, gambling, and cannabis.
